AIRD Tanzania was founded in 2006 with the goal of facilitating the humane evacuation of people affected by natural or man-made disasters while giving them and their host communities the chance to start over and prosper in the long run. While offering products and services to help them cope with the fact that they had to leave their homes, many of those displaced were able to find safety. For displaced people, safe housing is desperately needed. AIRD Tanzania constructed and distributed 1,918 transitional shelters, 997 emergency shelters, and 1,000 upgradeable shelters in 2019 alone, providing a home for numerous displaced families. Additionally, transporting essential non-food items (NFIs) helps displaced persons to restart their lives. 55,389 tons of NFIs were transported by the team in 2019. Storage of these items is possible at 2 warehouses and 19 rub halls with a capacity of 12,000 m3 in different locations in the country. Trucking of 637,000 litres of water also helped to narrow a large gap experienced in camps. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
