Located in Tanzania and Uganda, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP Tanzania) project is a midstream development that comprises a nearshore Marine Storage and Export Terminal (MST). After it is finished, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline, a 1,443 km long electrically heated crude oil export pipeline, will be operated by the EACOP Company. It carries crude oil from Kabaale – Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania, where it is exported to foreign markets. Together with the Tilenga and Kingfisher projects, the construction of the EACOP Pipeline will boost Tanzania’s and Uganda’s economies by bringing in tax income for both host governments, creating jobs, promoting domestic content, building new infrastructure, facilitating logistics, transferring skills and technology, and improving the trade corridor between Tanzania and Uganda.
