For European side, the 10 group winners go straight to the finals, which will be played between November 21 and December 18, 2022.

Qatar’s tournament will be the last to feature 32 teams, as the number of teams has increased to 48 from the 2026 finals to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Qatar, will be taking part in the tournament for the first time, and has qualified as a host, expected to be a regular team in the finals.

1: Germany

Germany were the first team to qualify for the 2022 finals, beating Macedonia 4-0, on October 11 and secured the first place to qualify from Group J.

2: France

Kylian Mbappé scored 4 goals as France beat Kazakhstan 8-0 and helped the team lead Group D, leaving second-placed Finland in second place.

3: Belgium

The Belgians, who finished 3rd in the 2018 World Cup, are also heading to Qatar, after Saturday’s 3-1 win over Estonia and securing top spot from Group E.

4: Croatia

Croatia have qualified for Group H on Saturday. It met Russia, who were looking for just one point to qualify, but Zlatko Dalic’s men forced a draw, with Fedor Kudryashov’s 81st minute goal that put Russia in the knockout stages.

5: Spain

On Sunday Spain won their 12th consecutive finals from Group B, beating Sweden at the top of their group in Seville.

6: Serbia

In a stunning game, Serbia beat Portugal 2-1 at home to Cristiano Ronaldo and qualified directly, with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s last-minute goal beating Portugal.

7: Switzerland

Switzerland beat Bulgaria 4-0 and qualified for next year’s finals by finishing top of Group C after Northern Ireland forced a 0-0 draw with Italy in Belfast.

8: England

England have qualified for the World Cup after beating San Marino, a 10-0 team that is dragging its tail in world football rankings. Gareth Southgate’s squad is set to win the World Cup next year, having reached the semi-finals of Russia’s previous tournament and reached the final at Euro 2020 in the summer.

9: Denmark

Denmark was the second nation to qualify for next year’s World Cup in Qatar after their 10 win over Austria maintained its excellent record in Group F.
