GDE Admission Calendar 2022. GDE Admission 2022 application exercise is out. Gauteng Department of Education accepts phase 2 applications for admissions 2021/2022.
Phase 2 of the Gauteng School application for the 2022 Admissions Period commences on 13 September 2021 and closes on 8 October 2021.

GDE Application 2022 Grade 8 & Grade 10 Gauteng
Apply ONLINE for Grade 1 and / Grade 8 to secure space at a public school. A reliable cellphone can also be used, the department will send regular SMSes to the cell phone used to apply/register.
Application is to only a maximum of 5 schools. Remember to use the Home option at least once to apply to schools with Feeder Zones that cover your home address.
Remember to submit documents to All the schools that you applied to in 7 days after applying. Documents can also be uploaded on the System to ONE school for the other schools to view.
There are Decentralised Walk-in Centres where parents can be assisted to make applications from 08:00 to 16:00.

| Application Period During Phase 2, parents of all learners who need admission to Grade 1 and the remaining Grade 7 learners from Independent Schools and other provinces will make applications to Grade 1 and Grade 8 for the 2022 Academic Year. | 13 September 2021 | 8 October 2021 |
| Submission of Documents by Parents Within 7 days of making an application, parents must submit documents to all the schools that they have applied to. Documents can be uploaded onto the System to ONE school so that ALL schools can view OR parents may submit hard copies of documents to ALL the schools they have applied to. | 13 September 2021 | 15 October 2021 |
| Verification of Documents Schools will verify all documents submitted for authenticity. Parents who uploaded documents that could not be verified may be requested to submit hard copies to the schools. Note that the proof of residence is very important to determine the placement of the learner. | 13 September 2021 | 20 October 2021 |
| Waiting List Management Schools submit Waiting Lists to District. Districts Quality assure all schools’ Waiting Lists to ensure compliance with Admissions Regulations from 3 August 2021. | 18 October 2021 | 11 November 2021 |
| GDE Admission of Learners by Schools 2022 During this period, parents will receive offers of placement via SMS. Where spaces are available, parents may receive offers from all schools they applied to. The System will notify parents when there are no further offers available. Parents are advised to accept each offer within 7 days or will forfeit the offer. The latest offer accepted will cancel all previous offers | 12 November 2021 | 15 December 2021 |
