“Harmony Gold nurtures talent to meet the labor demand in the gold mining industry. Every year, it selects a certain number of unprivileged students for the Harmony Gold Bursary. For the academic year 2022, Harmony will offer bursaries to both core and non-core mining disciplines.”

  1. Must be a South African citizen
  2. Must have completed Matric and hold a National Senior Certificate
  3. Must have achieved a minimum of 60% in all subjects in Matric
  4. Must be pursuing a full-time degree in one of the aforementioned fields of study at a recognized tertiary institute
  5. Can be either in the first, second, third, or fourth year of study in 2022
  6. Must have a solid academic record
  7. For Engineering students, they must have achieved at least 70% in both Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric
  8. Tertiary students must have scored at least 60% in all major subjects in Matric
  9. Must be receiving funding from any other bursary

  2. Rock Engineering
  3. Mining Engineering
  4. Electrical Engineering (only Heavy Current)
  5. Extractive Metallurgy
  6. Geology
  7. Survey
  8. Psychology
  9. Dentistry
  10. Botany


The first step is to create an online account at the Harmony Careers portal and submit the application form.


Click on the red “Apply” button and create an account (or log in if you already have one). Then proceed as per the instructions and fill out the necessary details.

Required Documents

  • ID documents
  • Grade 11 results
  • Matric June or mid-year results copy
  • Matric certificate, if currently available
  • Recent academic results (must be on institution letterhead)
  • Complete previous academic record
  • Acceptance letter at a tertiary institute (must be on institution letterhead)
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (not more than one page).
