Helvetas Since the 1970s, Tanzania has been engaged in the country and has successfully finished a number of initiatives related to education and rural road construction. We have been concentrating on agricultural development more recently. More over half of Tanzania’s GDP comes from farming, which provides a living for almost 90% of the country’s working population. However, the absence of adequate infrastructure makes it difficult to market the food, and agricultural production is still quite poor. By lowering post-harvest losses and creating efficient marketing plans, Helvetas helps farmers in central Tanzania increase their revenue. To determine the main obstacles and opportunities for each product, we confer with farmers and other market participants. In Tanzania, 850,000 young men and women give birth each year. This supply of labour stands in stark contrast to the 40,000 formal jobs available. The YES project gives young women and men the opportunity to undertake short training courses that supports them as they begin working life. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
