Tanzania was the site of the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM Tanzania Vacancy) 2002 launch. Through humanitarian direct assistance, recreational activities, and a range of other initiatives, the organization offers a complete response to the humanitarian needs of migrants, internally displaced people, returnees, and host communities around the nation. IOM, which has 174 member states, 8 states with observer status, and offices in more than 100 countries, is committed to advancing orderly and humanitarian migration for the good of everyone. It accomplishes this by offering guidance and services to both governments and migrants. IOM strives to support international collaboration on migration issues, maintain the humane and orderly management of movement, aid in the search for workable solutions to migration difficulties, and offer humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people. The IOM Constitution recognizes the link between migration and economic, social and cultural development, as well as to the right of freedom of movement. IOM Tanzania Vacancy activities that cut across these areas include the promotion of international migration law, policy debate and guidance, protection of migrants’ rights, migration health and the gender dimension of migration.
