About Mhonda Teachers College
The Mhonda Teachers College, commonly referred to as Chuo Cha Ualimu Mhonda, The College was established by the Holy Ghost Fathers of the Catholic Church in 1937. The Institute conducted Middle School training and grade ‘C’ teachers’ training class between 1937 and 1970. In 1970 the college was taken to become a government owned institution.
The graduates were those who completed standard 7 and 8 in primary schools level, they joined and studied Grade B teachers training. In 1981-1989 the college conducted three-months short courses for in-service teachers in Reading, Writing and Counting (KKK) fields; and lessons in Music, Agriculture and Art. In 1989 – 1993 the college conducted C-O Teaching Training for in-service teachers aimed at raising their profession towards the form four secondary education level. In 1993 the college instituted formal grade A teachers’ Training.
In addition, 2014/2015 the college began to conduct the Diploma in Early Childhood Education administered by the National Technical Education Council (NACTE). In 2016 the grade “A” teachers’ Training was reinstated where the college currently trains.

Our college offers opportunity to join teachers training to all persons from all over Tanzania. The qualifications for the one who wishes to apply and send application are as follows, -Must have at least a form four certificate with division three at one sitting (first priority will be given to those who have credits in Mathematics, Science subjects and English).

How to Get to College
When you reach the Morogoro station (Msamvu) Take the bus to Turiani one of them is; B.M -Coach, ZENJIBAR, MSUYA, ZEELAND, or Noah’s small cars n.k. His fare Tsh. 5000 / only. When you get to Turiani, get off at the Banana Market station and take the bus to the College. Cash is not accepted at the college. Money for personal use should not be deposited in those accounts as it will be the property of the college and will not be refunded, it is better for the student to open his personal account or keep it on his phone if he has it.
