Doctors without Borders is what Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF Tanzania) is known as. People impacted by war, disease outbreaks, natural catastrophes, or lack of access to healthcare receive medical aid from us. Tens of thousands of medical experts, logisticians, and administrative workers comprise our teams, all of whom are united by our charter. The values of impartiality, independence, and neutrality as well as medical ethics serve as our compass. We are an autonomous, non-profit organization with a membership base. A group of physicians and journalists started MSF in Paris in 1971. We now number over 69,000 individuals and are a global movement. At the moment, Tanzania is home to some 246,000 refugees and asylum seekers, the most of them are from Burundi, Tanzania’s neighbor. In order to enhance the standard of care for refugees, MSF has concentrated its support on specialized and secondary healthcare.
