WWF Tanzania’s 2030 Vision and WWF Global Conservation Strategies serve as the foundation for the organization’s conservation programs and goals. With a responsibility to satisfy Tanzania’s national priorities in wildlife and ecosystem management, the organization has developed within a number of conceptual frameworks and conservation priorities. A new Environmental and Social Safeguard Framework (ESSF) has been approved by the WWF Network, allowing WWF as a global organization to make sure that our activity goes beyond doing no damage to doing good in terms of local communities’ rights and well-being. Building on WWF’s social principles and commitments, the ESSF lays out specific guidelines to be adhered to in all of our work in various landscapes and seascapes, as well as a mechanism to guarantee that we can evidence this is happening: by landscape programme, nationally, regionally and globally. As part of the global WWF Network, WWF Tanzania is also going to implement the ESSF to ensure adherence to these best practice standards and to make sure that WWF’s work in Tanzania benefits both people and nature. The organization is an equal opportunity employer.
