Jobs at Dangote Cement Tanzania Our 3.0Mta plant, the biggest cement factory in Tanzania, was put into service in December 2015 and is located in Mtwara, roughly 400km from Dar es Salaam. The factory can produce huge quantities of high-quality 32.5 and 42.5 grade cements to suit local market needs at competitive costs, as well as adjacent export markets by sea, thanks to its approximately 500 million tonnes of limestone reserves, which will last for 149 years. Tanzania, which is home to an estimated 42 million people, uses about 50 kg of cement per person annually, which is far less than the global average and low even for Africa. Over the next five years, Tanzania’s GDP is predicted to expand by 7.0%, helped along by the mining, tourism, and industrial industries. The getting better performance of the economy has fueled strong growth in cement demand and the prospects remain favourable, given the linear relationship between economic growth and cement consumption.
