The government of the United Republic of Tanzania provides a majority stake in Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB Bank Vacancies), a public institution. The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Tanzania Posts Corporation, Posta na Simu Savings and Credit Society, Public Service Social Security Fund, and Workers Compensation Fund hold minority stakes in the bank. To serve the Tanzanian market, the Tanzania Posts & Telecommunications Corporation (TP&TC) was established. From the now-defunct TP&TC, TPB was founded. The Tanzania Postal Bank Act No. 11 of 1991 founded TPB.
