Located in Moshi, Tanzania, Bonite Bottlers Limited (BBL or the company) is a beverage bottling and distribution business. In a number of northern Tanzanian locations, BBL is the franchisee for the bottling of Coca-Cola carbonated soft drinks (CSD). Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, and two districts in the Singida region, Singida and Manyoni, are among the BBL franchise regions. Under the Kilimanjaro Drinking Water (KDW) brand, the company also bottles mineral water. The project’s goal is to help BBL increase its production capacity and buy the newest machinery for its business. Increasing its CSD production capacity to 36,000 bottles per hour (bph) from the current 24,000 bph on its returnable glass bottle (RGB) line is one of the project’s components. Another is swapping out an outdated PVC bottling line for a contemporary one PET bottling line; – extending its factory complex to house the new RGB line and provide additional storage space; – acquiring additional vehicles to augment its distribution network; – acquiring a PET-preform manufacturing line and – providing incremental working capital. The Project will enable BBL to produce a larger volume of Coca-Cola products and expand its market share through the supply of a wider range of products.
