Through an agreement between the governments of the five countries—the Republic of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda—the CCTTFA Vacancy was established as a multilateral organization. Through the port of Dar es Salaam, the Central Corridor—an integrated multimodal and logistics network—connects the CCTTFA Member States to the ocean. In order to facilitate seamless transit trade, CCTTFA Vacancy collaborates with the governments of its member nations and other development partners to increase the transit corridor’s efficiency. The Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agreement, which was signed, governs Member State cooperation for the Central Corridor’s development. on the 2nd September, 2006. Under the agreement, the Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (CCTTFA) was established with the mandate to coordinate the Member States’ efforts of ensuring coordination and cooperation in the management of transit transport along the corridor.
