The goal of the Tanzania Horticulture Association (TAHA Vacancy), a top private sector member-based organization, is to cultivate and promote horticulture in Tanzania, which includes growing flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and horticultural seeds. For both social and financial benefits, TAHA seeks to increase the horticultural sector’s growth and competitiveness in the nation. TAHA is a single platform for Tanzanian horticulture that represents all levels of farmers, as well as processors, exporters, and service providers. TAHA is presently carrying out the USAID “Tuhifadhi Chakula” activity, a five-year initiative supported by USAID. By tackling postharvest handling concerns along important value chains, the initiative aims to reduce food loss and waste and significantly contribute to Tanzania’s food security basket. The project’s interventions will center on four (4) primary thematic areas, which improve food handling, storage and value addition at producer and commercial levels, facilitate market access to ensure agricultural good reach consumers, inform and promote policy and regulatory frameworks that reduce food loss and waste and strengthen local organizations capacity to lead on post-harvest management. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
