The biggest cement manufacturer in Tanzania is Tanzania Portland Cement Public Limited Company (TPC PLC), also known as Twiga Cement Limited Vacancy. The Heidelberg Cement Group owns it. Its primary business when it was founded in 1966 was the production and distribution of cement. In the middle of 1966, the first bag of cement was rolled out at Wazo Hill. However, TPC PLC was nationalized in 1978 and subsequently privatized in 1998 as a result of the course of events. The public of the United Republic of Tanzania currently owns 30.75 percent of the shares, while Heidelberg Cement currently owns 69.25 percent through Scancem International DA. On the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), TPC PLC’s shares are actively traded. Since its founding, TPC PLC has manufactured premium cement that complies with to the standards issued by Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS). The company currently produces five main brands of cement, and are Twiga Ordinary (42.5N), Twiga Plus (42.5N), Twiga Extra (32.5R), Twiga Super (32.5N), and Twiga Jenga (MC 22.5X).
