SA Youth (www.sayouth.org.za) SA Youth is a national pathway management network, an initiative that brings together eight government departments led by the Department of Employment and Labour, in a strong partnership with Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator and other organisations, to form a network that will support young people to find pathways into the economy.

Through these partnerships, we have developed an online platform called SAYouth.mobi. Youth can create a profile, view opportunities for learning and earning, and receive support through multiple channels.
SAYouth.mobi has been zero-rated by all mobile networks so that it can be accessed by young people from anywhere in the country at absolutely no cost. This complements existing efforts to create physical spaces where young people can go to access information, opportunities and support including the NYDA centres and will include the 127 labour centres operated by the Department of Labour and Employment in every province.

The Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI) was announced by the President in his February 2020 State of the Nation Address (SONA), as a comprehensive response to the challenge of youth unemployment in South Africa.
The intervention includes five priority actions over five years to fundamentally alter the trajectory of youth employment, coordinated by the Project Management Office (PMO) in the Presidency. It is a coordinated national plan of action that ‘aims to contribute towards a South Africa where youth are actively participating in the economy with greater dignity and a sense of agency over their contribution to society.’.’
