Since the 1970s, Sightsavers Tanzania Vacancy has been working to preserve vision and stop diseases that cause blindness in Tanzania. We assisted with 11,000 sight-saving surgeries across the nation in 2021. In order to combat avoidable blindness, Sightsavers has been active in the nation since the 1970s, supporting and bolstering regional eye care systems. We raise public awareness of eye care, train medical professionals in specialized fields, and advocate for universal access to eye care. In Tanzania, the primary goals of our programs are to prevent and treat trachoma and to provide cataract surgeries to those who require them. Additionally, we strive to advance equal opportunities for individuals with impairments. We envision a society in which preventable causes of blindness do not exist, and where people with disabilities can participate equally in society. We treat eye conditions such as cataracts and tackle debilitating diseases, many of which cause sight loss. To do this, we work with governments and local, national and international partners to carry out eye operations and distribute treatments where they’re needed. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
