Established by Parliamentary Act No. 8 of the 1980s, the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) is a corporate organization. With the primary goal of addressing the qualitative and quantitative scarcity of skilled labor within the framework of sustainable capacity building aimed at reducing poverty and achieving sustainable development, this Act establishes the legal foundation for the Institute to become a significant national center for training, research, and consulting services in the field of rural planning and management. Through post-secondary education and training, research, and consulting services, IRDP aims to improve and fortify the ability of practitioners of rural development. Therefore, IRDP is a multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral organization with the authority to supervise and plan the delivery of knowledge to in-service and pre-service employees engaged in rural planning in the country. Since its establishment, IRDP has been shaping destinies in planning and research methodologies focusing on the future prosperity of its students. As a result, graduates with IRDP qualifications have made valuable contributions in their fields. They are a proof of our unique approach of learning and training methodologies. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, hence all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
