Taasisi ya Utangazaji Tanzania (TUT), the Tanzania Broadcasting Services, was replaced on July 1st, 2007 by the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC), a public service broadcaster created by government order in 2007. In accordance with Government Notice No. 23 of June 14, 2002, and Public Corporation Act No. 2 of 1992, TUT was founded in 2002. It was created by the merging of Televisheni ya Taifa (TVT), founded in 1999, and Radio Tanzania Dar es Salaam (RTD), founded in 1972. It is the national network of Tanzania and is run and owned by the government. It offers news, entertainment, music, fashion, and political information, as well as the most recent breaking news and footage directly from the event. TBC has gained an audience in various social media platforms through the presence of @TBConline across the platforms. We are home to six media channels, three national TV channels; TBC1, TBC2, and Tanzania Safari Channel as well as three radio stations; TBC Taifa, TBC Fm, and TBC International.
