The Tanzania programs of the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) gave rise to Ciheb Tanzania, a locally registered and run non-profit organization. As a result, Ciheb-Tanzania acquired the knowledge, personnel, financial, and administrative processes utilized throughout the previous 18 years of UMB’s operations in Tanzania, which supported more than seven USG and WHO-funded HIV and TB programs in 28 regions and 140 districts with a portfolio of more than $30 million and 60 people. With the utmost respect for ethics, health professional abilities, technical excellence, and prudent financial management, the mission is to increase public access to education, healthcare, water, and sanitation through research and technical support. Ciheb-Tanzania’s goals are to support the development of health systems, the provision of high-quality services, and technical assistance for the provision of high-quality clinical care and service deliverance in Tanzania. To promote and enhance health service education, healthcare, and water and sanitation for improvement of health, fight against diseases and well-being of the people. Advocate Implementation of programs with the highest regard to integrity, health professional skills, technical quality and sound fiscal management.
